November 9th Speaker: Ron Clyborne Topic: Edmonds Veterans Plaza
Mr. Clyborne is a USMC and Vietnam Veteran and remains active as Edmonds Veterans Plaza Team Leader with the Edmonds VFW Post 8870, American Legion Post 66, and the Vietnam Veterans of America (VVA). Ron was the Chair of the Edmonds Veterans Plaza Committee responsible for creating the Edmonds Veterans Plaza, dedicated on Memorial Day, 2017. Additionally, Ron is an active supporter of the Edmonds College Foundation's Boots to Books program, the Veterans Resource Center, and the local Veterans HEROES CAFÉ program.
Ron Clyborne was awarded the Edmonds Daybreaker's 2012 Professional of the Year Award as well as their highly regarded and coveted Paul Harris Fellowship Award. Ron's numerous community efforts include past president of the Edmonds Chamber of Commerce Board, 12-year Chairman of July 4th program, and past Grand Marshall of the July 4th Parade. Ron was a leader in the early development of the Edmonds Center for the Arts, serving on their original board for nine years and remains an Emeritus Board member. Presently Ron is a supporter and fundraising volunteer for the Edmonds Waterfront Center and continues to support the Cascadia Art Museum as well as many other community groups and efforts.
